It is the European Branch of the American Counseling Association - a non-profit, professional organization dedicated  to the support of counselors living and working in Europe.  EB-ACA is an approved USAREUR private organization.

Membership is open to any individual whose primary work-related responsibilities or interests are in the area of human services -- particularly -- counseling, guidance, personnel work, or psychology.  Membership is also open to others with similar interests and responsibilities such as community agency workers, school social workers, paraprofessionals in counseling, counselors-in-training, and interested others.

Members receive copies of the "Neues Perspectives", the newsletter published in Europe about local conferences, training, and current issues in counseling.  A membership directory  is published to provide members with an avenue to network with other professionals in the field.  Members receive announcements of each Learning Institute (LI) describing the LI, the presenter(s), and details of the event.  In addition, EB-ACA coordinates an annual fall conference with presenters from all over Europe and the U.S., presenting workshops and LI's where members receive training, information, and a venue for networking with others, as well as continuing education units (CEU's).
